The forecast high in Calgary is expected to be 18 degrees below average, and temperatures will remain below freezing until at least Friday, with the bulk of the snow expected to fall in southern Alberta. Highway conditions quickly deteriorated throughout the morning, with many locations reporting snow and ice on the roadways.

A slow-moving arctic front has forced temperatures well below seasonal across the prairies.
Tuesday’s forecast high in Calgary is expected to be 18 degrees below average. Daytime highs will remain below freezing until at least Friday, with the bulk of the snow ending Tuesday in southern Alberta.
Road surfaces were still warm enough that most areas initially avoided icing, however road conditions may become a problem in vulnerable spots like bridge decks, on and off-ramps and intersections.
Highway conditions around the capital region quickly deteriorated throughout the morning with many locations reporting snow and ice on the roadways.
